If you’re heading to the Women’s Travel Fest this February, you’ll be happy to know that February is a gorgeous month in Playa del Carmen!
Read on for all the details on expected temps, average weather forecasts, and how to dress for the weather!
Enjoy nice ocean breezes throughout the day in Playa.
General Weather in Playa del Carmen
The weather in February is calm and warm, with typical daytime temps around the low to mid 80’s (F) and full sun. Some days might see a bit of passing clouds, but sunbathing will almost always be possible during this time of year!
The highs can reach 85°F / 30°C and the lows can get down to 65°F / 18°C.
Playa’s tropical environment means there will be humidity, but February is one of the least humid months, making the warm weather that much more enjoyable. Plus, because you’re by the water, you’ll be feeling nice ocean breezes throughout the day.

Regularly monitor the weather forecast as your travel dates approach.
Will it Rain in February?
February is actually the month with the least rain, so you can plan on basking in the sun throughout your whole trip! While a light rain shower isn’t impossible, it will typically pass very quickly (often within minutes!).
You generally won’t need to worry about packing for the rain in February, though you should always check the weather forecast closer to your travel dates just in case.

How to Dress During the Day
With daytime temps in the low 80s F (high 20s C), think t-shirts and tanks, shorts or lightweight, flowy pants, and dresses. You won’t need a jacket during the day, but you may want to bring a light shawl or scarf for sun coverage. It might also be handy to bring a light layer if you’re sensitive to strongly air-conditioned rooms.

Expect a drop in temperatures to around 70°F or 21°C.
How to Dress at Night
In the evenings and at night, the temps will drop to around 70°F or 21°C, which is still nice and warm! (Though, sometimes the temps can rise at night, like 5 to 7 degrees warmer.)
This means you’ll likely still want to be in a tee and shorts or a dress at night. But if you tend to run cold or have evening plans by the water (where the ocean breeze can get a bit chilly), a jean jacket, long-sleeve shirt, or light sweater would be perfect.
